Cambridge tops QS University Ranking 2010

In the recent release of QS World University Ranking 2010, University of Cambridge (UK) took the top spot as Number One University in the world, ranked ahead of Harvard University (2nd) and Yale University (3rd). University College London has maintained its position (4th place) as was ranked in the 2009 league table.

United States has the most number of universities ranked in the world's top 200 (53 institutions), followed by United Kingdom (30 institutions), Germany (12), the Netherlands (12), Canada (10), Japan (10).

In Australia only the Group of Eight (Go8) universities are ranked in the global top 200, with ANU being the 1st nationally and 20th internationally, followed by University of Sydney (37th) and University of Melbourne (38th).

In Asia the highest ranked institution is University of Hong Kong (23rd globally, up a place from 24th in 2009), followed by University of Tokyo (24th) and Kyoto University (25th).
